Rose Rose
Chief Executive Officer
Roy Rose brings over 30 years of diverse experience in the private equity market to the Health Professionals Alliance (HPA) mission. As a financial and strategic professional, Roy has repeatedly propelled company growth, expansion and diversification by developing effective corporate strategies and restructuring plans for actionable business and financial transitions. Since 1985, he has provided leadership in structuring and investing in leverage buyouts, real estate, analysis, and private investing for nearly 40 acquisitions and management buyouts.
As CEO & Chairman of the Board for HPA, in addition to serving as CEO and chairman of Whitestone, Roy believes in a personal philosophy to that we all are capable of the courage to never settle for ‘average’ and can push oneself towards the exceptional. That’s part of what led him to the healthcare field. He saw an urgent need to put medical care back into the hands of physicians rather than insurance companies and hospital administrators in order to reduce the cost of treatment without compromising quality.
Roy brings his passion for competing with the knowledge that winning in business isn’t defined the same way as it is in sports, where there is always a distinct winner and a loser. A true win in business means there is never a loser. With Roy’s philosophy and guidance, HPA helps practices bring better care at lower costs for patients and more peace of mind to their doctors and dentists.

Grant Diggles
President
There is no box big enough to contain the many diverse interests of our President, Grant Diggles. Grant is a best-selling co-author for his work on “The Soul of Success, Vol 2” with Jack Canfield and he is led by a philosophy that embraces good relationships and solving problems as the best markers of success. In 2005 he took on the CEO role at Outpatient Anesthesia Services and went on to become CEO of a business management company called The Cummings Group from 2006 to 2018. With his own personal patient experiences driving him, Grant joined the HPA mission to positively impact patient care by helping doctors thrive. He sees the healthcare industry as naturally confusing and full of hard-working professionals who need advocates surrounding them to push for their organizations’ best interests. When fulfilling this advocacy properly, providers as well as patients benefit with better care and fewer headaches. We’re glad we have Grant on our team, serving our members every day.

John Van Leeuwen
Business Development
With a personal motto to ‘work hard at something you love, and your job will be a permanent vacation,’ John’s passion for helping dentists make sound financial decisions comes from the heart. As a young financial advisor, he realized that many dentists had little to no training on how to run their business or harnessing financial planning methods. When he saw how grateful they were for his expertise and guidance on these matters, John decided to carve out a niche in advising dental organizations. Soon, he became recognized as a leader in the industry by authoring articles, traveling the country for speaking engagements, and even developing dental school curricula to teach the business side of dentistry. For 27 years, John has advised dentists on all aspects of their personal and practice financial planning including: retirement, tax, estate, investment, cash flow, and debt management. From 1994 through 2005, he founded and was the president of the Portland firm IPA Dental Financial Planning. In 2006 John orchestrated a merger of IPA with the Partners Group where he acted as a Senior Vice President and Director of Dental Practice Services and Wealth Management. In 2011 he founded Green Sail Transitions, Inc., a dental practice valuation and sales company serving the Pacific Northwest. With so many years in the field, John has witnessed how often dentists struggle to accumulate wealth for retirement. This has only grown his dedication for helping dentists develop financial strategies that will maximize their options upon retiring. With a fierce commitment to honesty and integrity driving every decision he makes, he joined HPA to help spearhead our dental initiatives. John believes wholeheartedly that once more dental practitioners understand the vast benefits our model provides to hardworking doctors; they will see what a much-needed solution HPA offers to their lives and livelihoods.

Jeff Reece
Business Development
Jeff Reece brings 30 years of Sales and Marketing experience to Health Professionals Alliance (HPA) Mainstay program with the last 24 years being committed to Burkhart Dental Supply with leadership in sales, marketing, practice management and special markets.
Jeff brings a competitive spirit to HPA that served him well early in his life, as a college and minor league baseball player. That experience encouraged him to use his competitiveness and creativity to address the many challenges facing private practice. He enjoys developing genuine bonds with colleagues and clients and is motivated by exceeding team goals and commitments.
A team-oriented and focused leader, with an entrepreneurial spirit, he defines himself by his ability to live up to his commitments while taking full ownership. He places a high value on trust and will not betray yours.
Jeff possesses a roll up your sleeves approach, which served independent dentistry well when he testified in an antitrust class action lawsuit, in support of offering discounts to buying groups representing solo and small-group dental practices. He is committed to protecting independent dentistry and keeping care and autonomy in the hands of our member owners.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 37 years Carolyn, and their 4 married kids and spouses. Whether it’s casting a fly or hitting a golf ball, any outdoor activity with family and friends wins.

Dr. Brad Hester

Practicing general dentistry in Bend for more than 20 years, Dr. Hester’s passion is helping people achieve a beautiful, healthy smile. His interest in dentistry began at an early age deciding on dentistry as a career in 7th grade. His college years were spent at the University of Portland, graduating with a B.S. in Biology. Dr. Hester won a scholarship to play baseball at the University and was voted Most Valuable Player as well as achieving the Highest Batting Average award during his senior season. He went on to earn his D.M.D. (Doctor of Dental Medicine) at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.
In 1988 Dr. Hester opened his private practice in Portland, practicing there until 1994 when he moved back to his roots in Central Oregon.
Committed to providing the best, most advanced dental care, Dr. Hester invests hundreds of hours each year enhancing his skills and keeping up to date on advances in the dental field. He has studied with some of the world’s leading authorities in dentistry including Dr. Peter Dawson and The Pankey Institute (reconstructive dentistry), Dr. David Hornbrook (esthetics), Dr. Carl Misch (Implants), and Dr. Ken Reed & William Gottschalk (IV Sedation).
We are proud to announce that Dr. Brad Hester recently became the Oregon Dental Association’s (ODA) 128th President!
Dr. Hester is married to his wife of 33 years, Kelly, who works as an RN at Volunteers in Medicine. They have five grown children and two dogs. In his free time, Dr. Hester enjoys outdoor activities, fine woodworking, and most recently building and racing Baja off-road cars.

My early years were spent working in a successful practice, learning virtually every function used by dental practices. I started off as a dental assistant and then became an office manager. After years spent in the practice setting, I continued my education and began working as a dental hygienist
These years provided a strong foundation for my knowledge on both the clinical side and the business operations side of the dental field. This is what has pushed me to adopt a bottom-up approach when providing DSO leadership expertise.
Breaking Into Pharma
Once I got a solid grasp of the dental practice space, I dove into a new adventure by entering the dental pharmaceutical industry. For nearly 5 years, I worked for a top-notch pharma company, holding various roles including Coaching, Sales, Education, and Account Management. This experience widened the scope of my industry knowledge and equipped me with the expertise to strengthen dental organizations.
Leading DSOs and More
After my time in pharma, I went on to hold multiple Senior VP and CEO positions with DSOs such as Coast Dental, Dental One Partners, and Advantage Dental from DentaQuest. In 2016, I founded and since operated my own dental advisory firm, Dental Solutions by Ellie Naderi. In 2018, I helped start a Pedo/Ortho group called SALT Dental out of the Pacific Northwest. My career has included work as an educator, giving clinical and didactic instruction to dental hygiene students at the Cerritos College Dental Hygiene Program.
Guiding Industry Titans
Today, I work as an operating partner to various investors in the dental space. My talents include board advising and support to technology and vendor partners geared toward solving DSO pain points. In addition, I chair the board of Womzii, a patient referral software technology company.
I also provide expertise to multi-site healthcare executives, advisors to DSOs, private equity firms, vender partners, operations experts, board chairs, educators, coaches, and mentors that are passionate about team development, culture, and leadership.

AJ Van Leeuwen

AJ started his career in the dental industry in 2019 while still in college, studying business at Montana State University, where he began learning the ropes of dental practice valuations and brokerage from his dad, John Van Leeuwen, owner of Green Sail Transitions, Inc. and one of the early members of the HPA team.
AJ has spent the last 5 years as a dental practice broker, real estate broker, and practice valuation analyst. He has focused his dental practice brokerage and valuation expertise to help streamline and expand HPA’s footrint.

Aaron Mowrer
Director of Practice Relations
Aaron has more than a decade of Sales experience in both software and Dental provider recruitment. He also has more than 5 years of Operational and Managerial experience with Not-for Profit organizations.
Aaron comes from a family of Healthcare providers and worked as a State Administrator for his family’s Residential Care business, LandyCare Inc., in California. He understands the impact of healthcare on the patient and their extended family and wants to make sure that independent healthcare thrives for the next generation.
