Member Spotlight – Matthew Hicks, DDS
Dr. Matthew Hicks embodies the true spirit of our founding HPA members. In fact, he sums it up in his own words,
“I joined HPA because of the people and the purpose. When good people come together to do the right things for the right reasons, that’s when prosperity happens!”
Matthew Hicks, DDS
We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Dr. Hicks as one of the initial driving forces, and a guiding light here at HPA. His entrepreneurial spirit, combined with his sense of family and community, and his desire to improve lives makes Dr. Hicks a doctor who aligns perfectly with the culture and mission here at HPA. If you ever wonder what the members of HPA, a doctor owned, doctor led company, are like – look no further than Dr. Matthew Hicks!
Dr. Matthew Hicks was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, graduated Stanford University with a BA in history and a BS in biology, and completed dental school at the University of Alabama. Upon completion of his general practice residency training at OHSU, Dr. Hicks entered private practice as an associate with Dr. David Long at this practice location in 1997. In early 2004, Dr. Hicks assumed ownership of the practice from Dr. Long, who founded the practice in 1973. Dr. Hicks has worked in public health clinics in the Tri County area, has volunteered his services in Mexico and Central America since dental school, and has also volunteered with Multnomah County’s “dental access program” providing dental services to underserved members of our community. Outside of work, Dr. Hicks’s interests include outdoor recreation (surfing, skiing and snowboarding, camping, fly fishing); travel; environmental advocacy; music; and enjoying the company of his wife Christine, son Aidan, daughter Juliana, and family dog Lilly.
We are a multi-doctor, well-established, general dental practice serving patients of all ages. For me, Moreland Neighborhood Dental is a special place. I am humbled by our patients who have placed their trust in me and our exceptional team. Because of this trust, we can use the best of our skills to help improve the lives of the people in our community. This is the foundation of the long-term relationships that are an everyday part of life in our practice. And at the end of the day, relationships like these are what mean the world to me.
I joined HPA because of the people and the purpose. When good people come together to do the right things for the right reasons, that’s when prosperity happens! I want to be a part of that undertaking, both to contribute and to receive.
